Obituary for Dennis Grant Bruderer

Dennis passed in to his heavenly father’s arms after a sudden but brief illness on August 27th, 2020. He was in his happy place, in the mountains camping with his wife Julie when his body was relieved of pain. He was employed with Amalgamated Sugar in Nampa until 2019, but Dennis’ life legacy will always be his music. A self-taught musician, he had recorded several albums and entertained for many years. Drawing from his Swiss heritage, Dennis could yodel and also wrote a song “Swiss Boy” that illustrated his yodeling prowess. He sang with the same passion he demonstrated in every aspect of his life. Dennis believed strongly in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Coming from a large family, he also was the father to many. His hugs were generous and you knew you were loved.
Dennis Grant Bruderer was born Feb. 7, 1942 in Logan, Utah. Dennis was the 2nd youngest of 15 children born to Conrad and Anna (Ochsenbein) Bruderer. He leaves behind his wife Julie of 34 years and Children Dallas (Marcy), Dail (Pam), Trina (Mike), Michelle, and DeLyle (Shannon); Step-Children: Ernie (Charmagne), Tim (Tammy), Randy, and Rodney; Tammy (Ron), Jeff (Sue), Becky, Kellie (Clay), Kymberlee, Lisa (Basil) and helped raise Dale and Kim (Pam) Edwards.
His surviving siblings are: Ed, Arvil Dean, Raymond, Delbert, Wesley, and Ruth. He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings: Ivan, Virginia Alder, Leonard, Howard, Victor, Alma, Lorin, and Melvin.
Many people will agree and make the statement about Dennis, “there are no strangers”. He would be the first to jump in and lend a hand if you needed it, or give words of encouragement and a hug if that’s what was in order. His presence on earth will be missed.
Special appreciation is given to Jessica Velasquez with Journey’s Hospice for her compassionate and loving guidance.
A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in Caldwell 3015 S. Kimball Ave. at 2pm on Tuesday Sept. 1st. There will be a viewing Monday, Aug. 31 at Zeyer funeral Chapel and also prior to services on Sept. 1st. Pending graveside services will be in Logan, Utah
