After the war, he attended SAGU Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. After graduating, he moved to California. A fond memory is of Leonard and Rita delivering newspapers to the High Desert area of Southern, California and they would always stop for ice cream.

Leonard and Rita moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1992. They started attending the Domes First Assembly of God church in Caldwell, Idaho. He held Senior bible classes and prayer meetings weekly at the church for 9 years.

He was a member of the DAV Chapter One serving as Chaplin and Treasurer. Leonard also volunteered for CCOA helping seniors with Honey-do jobs. He drove Veterans from Canyon County to the VA Hospital in Boise for their appointments.

He is survived by Rita, his wife of 50 years, his children Sherri, Kent, Mark, Kathy, David and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
