Obituary

With profound reverence, we honor the life of William John Woolsey, who peacefully passed away on May 12, 2025. Born on June 3, 1933, in Los Angeles, California, he was the second of four brothers, blessed with a life of unwavering purpose and selfless devotion. His unshakeable dedication earned him an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1955. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he uplifted countless lives, while his bravery and commitment shone brightly during his 30-year tenure with the L.A. City Fire Department. In his golden years, he found joy working for the Brown Bus Company and the Idaho Forest Department. He cherished the ocean and delighted in deep-sea fishing and cruising around the world. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving an enduring legacy of love. He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Woolsey; children Billy Woolsey, Joy & Kyle Nielsen, and Jill & Ron Knapp; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
