Wava Janelle Whilden passed away at her home in Nampa on March 19, 2024. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. Service will take place on April 16th at 10:30 am at the Nampa Civic Center. A private family scattering of the ashes will take place at the Idaho State Veterans cemetery at a later time. Janelle was born in Brushyknob, Missouri on May 30, 1943, to Leonard and Irene Heard and was one of nine children. She lived in Missouri until the age of 7 where her parents had a dairy farm. The family moved to Louisville, NE where her father worked at the Ash Grove Cement Plant until his retirement. Janelle attended elementary and high school in Louisville, NE. Janelle married Floyd Lee Eastridge in 1960. To this union three children were born: Troy Lee, Bob Alan and Michelle Ranae. Floyd was killed in a car accident in 1963. She married Joseph Henry Whilden on August 14th in 1965 in Louisville, NE. To this union three children were born: Jackie Jolene, Pamela Jo and Joseph Henry Jr. They moved to Idaho where they raised their family and made many friends. Janelle worked many years at Checkmate Industries until her retirement. She enjoyed her bible studies and spending time with family and friends. There are many things we will miss about our mom. Her ability to make hosting our large family look easy was always impressive. Mainly we will miss her smile and our long conversations about what was going on in all our lives. Our mom wanted to offer a special thank you to her Hospice care team. Elena, Karina and Amie the comfort care you provided our mother meant more to her than words can say. She appreciated all you did for her. She is survived by her children: Troy Eastridge, Bob (Jody) Eastridge, Shelly Day, Jackie (Toby) Moore, Pam (Jim) Aschenbrenner and Joseph (Teri) Whilden Jr. Grandchildren: Dana, Joshua, Jennifer, Jonathan, Hailey, Megan, Bailey and Ben. Great-grandchildren: Colten, Taylor, Ramie, Tyson, Landon, Ayana, Isabella, Isaac, Raelynn and her siblings: Donald (Mary) Heard, Lela Baker, Carol (Allyn) Meyers and Cathy Lynn. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Whilden; parents, Leonard and Irene; siblings: James Heard, Clayton Heard, Neva Page and Norma Boardman. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Idaho Food Bank.
