Vendla (Bunny) Durfee Bennett, 73, of Nampa, Idaho, formerly of Grantsville and Wendover, Utah passed away in the comfort of her daughter's home on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Vendla was born on November 6, 1941 to Marion Clark & Mary Alice Cook Durfee. She attended school in Grantsville, Utah and spent the early years of her life there. She married Donald R. Bennett in 1961 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Boise LDS Temple. Together they had one daughter, Teresa. Bunny was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter Teresa of Nampa and her four children and four grandchildren; step children: Kathy (Tom), Janet (John) and Chris as well as 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; brothers; Robert, Charles and Kenneth and sister Mary Alice. She worked at the United States Postal Service for many years and received nation-wide honors for her service. Bunny was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church positions, among them were Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Young Women's President and Primary Teacher/Worker. She also served in the Boise LDS Temple for several years. Bunny was also a volunteer for the ambulance service in Wendover, Utah and served there for many years. Her friends and family were the beneficiaries of Bunny's artistic talents that included ceramics, woodworking and poetry writing. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 13, at the Grantsville LDS Chapel, 415 W. Apple St. in Grantsville. A viewing will be held at the church at 11:30 a.m. Friday, prior to the services. Interment will be in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
