Betty Brown October 16, 1927 - March 10, 2023

Betty Brown was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Betty left this world on March 10, 2023, at age 95. Betty Brown was born October 16, 1927, in Kingman, Kansas; the daughter of Daniel A. and Gladys (Houston) Hovey. Betty attended Southwest College in Winfield, Kansas. She married Dale Brown March 21, 1950, in Chicago. To this union was born Peggy, Cynthia, Nancy and Steven.

Betty served as President of Morgan County Garden Club winning honors and recognition from the National Council of State Garden Clubs. She also served as President of the Illinois Home Extension, Morgan County. Betty was an accomplished oil painter having won several blue ribbons in state competition.

Surviving are her husband Dale; daughters Peggy (Dennis) Hale, Nancy (Paul) Davoust and son Steven (Sandy) Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia; her parents; brothers: James, Lewis, Harold, and Daniel.

Betty and Dale traveled throughout the US visiting friends and family and participated in their hobby of rock hounding once Dale was retired. Betty's family was the greatest joy of her life, and a game of bridge was a fun past time. Betty and Dale attended the Community of Christ Church for over 60 years.

Graveside Service will be held at the Melba Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 17. Afterward a luncheon will be held at the home of Peggy and Dennis Hale in Nampa, ID.
