Teresa Dianne Bailey was born on April 10, 1975, to Darius and Donna Bailey in Nampa, ID. The youngest of six children. After a valiant fight with cancer Teresa returned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Growing up Teresa enjoyed spending time with her family on their farm in Nampa, ID. Growing up on a farm gave Teresa the love she had for animals. She enjoyed dancing, playing piano and showing cattle in 4H. Teresa graduated from Nampa High in 1993. After high school she attended Ricks College, graduating in 1996 with an associate degree in general studies. Moving to Utah with her husband Richard she attended Utah Valley University and later Utah State in Logan receiving her bachelor's degree in liberal arts with a minor in Music and Spanish language. She later completed a master's degree in education from the University of Phoenix in 2018. Teresa married Richard Johannsen June 17, 1995, and together they had six children. They later settled in Nampa, Idaho. Though they divorced, Richard took great care of Teresa at the end of her life. Showing love for her through the end. Teresa loved spending time with her children Bailey, McKinlley, Taysen, Brian, Dallin and Collin. Her children were her greatest joy and she loved them with everything she had. She fought courageously against cancer to have as much time as possible with them. Her favorite vacations were taking her children to Disneyland and spending time in California, Bear Lake, UT and McCall, ID. She loved spending time and making memories with her children and extended family. Teresa enjoyed playing and teaching piano, watching movies at home or in the theater, reading, baking and working out. Teresa ran marathons and competed in body sculpting competitions. She had a great love of animals. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays and Teresa enjoyed decorating and making them special. Spending time with family meant the world to Teresa. We will miss being at her house for family parties with lots of food and laughter. Teresa was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. Her smile and laughter would light up the room and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Teresa married Rich McCord in May 2020. The Bailey family is grateful to Rich for the love, support and companionship he provided to her. Teresa is survived by her parents; her children: Bailey, McKinlley, Taysen, Brian, Dallin and Collin; and their father Richard Johannsen (of Kuna, ID). Her siblings: Bret (Carolyn) of Nampa, Idaho, Todd (Anne) of Nampa, Idaho, Rick (Kim) of Mesa, AZ, Michelle Going (Lynn) of Idaho Falls, ID, Kristen Arteaga (Ivan) of Katy, TX. Teresa was preceded in death by her grandparents and niece Taylor Kaye Going. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the LDS Chapel located at 313 E. Deer Flat Rd., Kuna, Idaho. Bishop Barry Miller will preside and conduct. A viewing will be held at the same location at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Teresa's family will visit with family and friends at the viewing prior. The burial will be at the Kuna Cemetery.
