Suzanne
Spinler
Jun 3, 1962 — Aug 17, 2025
Obituary for Suzanne "Suzy" Kay Spinler Suzanne Kay Spinler, lovingly known as Suzy, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Nampa, Idaho. She was born on June 3, 1962, in Santa Monica, California, to Robert and Marjorie (Frontier) Deason. Suzy was the fourth of nine children. She spent her early childhood in California until her sophomore year of high school, when the family relocated to the Treasure Valley, where she attended Notus High School. The family later moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where Suzy graduated from high school. Following graduation, she spent six months working as a nanny in New York before eventually making her way to Minnesota. It was in Minnesota that she met the love of her life, Curtis Spinler, while out cycling with friends. Their shared love of the outdoors blossomed into a deep and lasting relationship, and they were married on June 11, 2010, at the historic Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Twelve years ago, Suzy and Curtis moved back to Idaho, where they recently enjoyed retirement together. Suzy lived a life of service and creativity. She worked as an ambulance driver and later as an emergency room technician but loved her job being a homemaker. She had a gift for turning thrifted items and cast-offs into beautiful and unique treasures. Among her greatest joys was working with stained glass, designing windows, plaques, and keepsakes. Curtis even built her a special "she shed" so she could fully immerse herself in her crafting and stained-glass work—her happy place. She also loved creating homemade holiday decorations, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart, though she delighted in celebrating every holiday. Together, Suzy and Curtis shared a love of gardening. Each spring, Suzy was eager to prepare the ground—even before the earth had fully thawed. They built garden beds and creative trellises from cattle fence panels for their climbing beans. Their garden flourished with tomatoes, squash, beans, and many other vegetables. Suzy took pride in preserving the harvest. She canned vegetables, fruit, juices, and even full meals, filling their pantry with the fruits of their labor and love. Suzy will be remembered for her kindness, her positivity, and her giving spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, often offering compliments even to strangers. She was happy, warmhearted, and full of life. Together with Curtis, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, where she especially loved visiting with the elderly and bringing joy to their days. Suzy is survived by her beloved husband, Curtis Spinler; her children, Jessica Beckley, Dalton Kuzemchak, Andera Kuzemchak, Allena (Elijah) Alaniz and grandchildren Addison Wright (granddaughter) Henry Wright (grandson) and Zander Fischer (grandson). She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie Deason. Her life was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and creativity will live on through her family and friends.
