Obituary

Spencer James Bell was born on September 21, 2007 and completed his mission here on earth on October 20, 2023. Spencer was born in Las Vegas, NV to Blake James and Heather Ann Terry Bell. He enjoyed living in Nevada, Iowa, and most recently in Meridian, Idaho. Spencer was the second of four children. He was attending Meridian High School as a sophomore.

Spencer has a love of history and sharing facts. He loves playing games, Star Wars, reading, and "running" to his next task. Spencer loves being outdoors, camping, and playing lacrosse. He worked at Lovejoy's ice cream and loved attending the temple whenever he could. He had a talent of impressions and winning chess games.

When Spencer's family was asked to share a memory or favorite thing about Spencer, this is what they said:

Hailey: Working with Spencer was both the best and worst thing ever. He's a hard worker but had to learn how to scoop, which took him a while. On my last day working there, I was with Spencer and Noelle; someone had dropped off a bunch of energy drinks and I taught him how to drink them shotgun style when work was slow. He had punctured the bottle and sprayed it over all of us. He drank six bottles that day. I'll miss talking to him late at night when he 'snuck' into my room. Spencer is my best friend and I can't wait to see him again.

Brooke: One of many memories is every single time I would go to drop Spencer off at work at Lovejoys, he would always run into the shop. He had such a funny run. He always wore boots but he let loose and wore sandals on our last family vacation. We were all proud of him for that.

William: Spencer is kind, awesome, adventurous, smart and he's fun to read books with. My favorite time with Spencer was playing legos.

Blake: Spencer was my best friend, he would hang out with me all the time and go on midnight snack runs. Like his mom, Spencer loved reading. Every morning, you could find him lying in the sun reading Tin Tin, Calvin and Hobbes or factual history books. My favorite memory of Spence is building snow forts in Iowa all day and using the snowblower to make massive walls.

Heather: Spencer always looks out for those in need. He works hard and once he had to burn a lot of branches in our yard. I left him to it and he started small and when I came back from running errands, the fire was so big, it was burning our other trees. Spencer always got the job done. He would often ask my how my day was and call me "Michael Scott" when I tried to distract him during his schoolwork. His sense of humor was like no other!

One of Spencer's extraordinary gifts was to always give love selflessly and to serve others even while he struggled with unseen pain. He is survived by his loving parents, siblings Hailey Kate, Brooke Eileen, and William Blake; grandparents Curtis and Dora Terry (Las Vegas, NV), Stan and Candace Bell (Idaho Falls, ID) and countless aunts, uncles and adoring cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 27th at 12pm at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel located at 2555 S Stoddard Rd, Meridian, ID. The family is so grateful for the service and care given by the trauma team at St. Alphonsus and the Donor Services Family from Cascade Life Alliance. The outpouring of love, prayers, and kindness have been deeply felt by the family and is helping with the void that is left in their hearts.
