Obituary

Sharon Deloris Welch Davidson, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 20,2022, in her home with family close by. Her funeral will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 121 N Canyon Street, in Nampa, Idaho. Sharon was born November 15, 1940, in the small, small town of Sarah, Mississippi, to Dallas Ruby Welch and Ruby Inez Berry Welch. She is the fourth of nine children. She worked in the cotton fields from sunup till sundown for $2.00 a day. She has always been a hard worker and never shied away from hard things. She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for as long as she can remember. Her parents were both members, but her dad was inactive. Her mother tried to make sure she got them to church, though sometimes they had to walk a long way because they usually didn't have a car. She grew up in a small branch and has held many, many positions in the church. She and Gary served two service missions together, one at the Boise Idaho Temple and one at the seminary building at Nampa High School, which was for the addiction program. She grew up close to Elvis Presley's home in Memphis and Charlie Pride's home in Sledge, Mississippi. She attended college for two years. She, one sister, and a brother moved to Utah. There she worked for the Church one summer, and then for an insurance company until after she got married in the Salt Lake Temple to Gary Frank Davidson, and the birth of their first child, Derek. They have six children: one who only stayed here a short time (3 days), Derek (Krysti), Keri Lyn (Fred), Kathy (Patrick), Christopher (Crystal), and Dawn. They have 12 grandchildren: Britney, Kraig, Kortney, Jeff, Nicholas, Marcus, Kodie Lyn, Tyler, Ainslee, Mackenzie, Joseph, and Ashlyn; five great-grandchildren: Abigail, Jackson, Hank, Josie, and Lacey, with one on the way. She always told us kids she grew up like little house on the prairie! She always went with us kids and did all the running around with us. It's been hard for her not to be able to do yard work, keep the garden, climb the ladder, paint the fence, and fix things. She will be missed by us all, but especially by Gary. They have been married 57 years. Her one wish and prayer is that all her kids will be in the temple together.
