Roy Thomas Grover It is with love and heavy hearts that we honor the passing of a great man, Roy Thomas Grover. We celebrate the life of an honorable man, an honest man, a God-fearing man, and a beloved man.

Roy was born to Harry and Jeanne Grover of Piru, California, and spent much of his life there with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, and living life to its fullest. He loved and respected all wildlife and especially loved to carve birds. He could spend hours simply marveling at God’s creations. He also enjoyed crocheting and loved to make slippers as gifts, donating hundreds of them to charities. Roy was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force and served in the United States and abroad.

Roy was married to his first wife, Betty Barber of Santa Paula, and was blessed with two children, Michelle and Wendy. He was an honored and dedicated employee and retired from the Deluxe Printing Company, where he remained a beloved friend to many from that time in his life.

After his adventures in California, Roy spent many years in Oregon, where he had a wonderful life with his beloved late wife, Linda. Together they raised her two beautiful children, Deb and Dan. He taught them also to love and respect nature as he did, and they shared many great times and adventures together.

Roy spent his last years in Idaho with family and friends and continued his love of nature and celebrating life every day. One code of ethics that he lived by was to try to do something every day for someone and to give in his way of himself with generosity, love, respect, and prayers. He was a moral and ethical man, and if he said he would do something, he always kept his word. He taught all of his children that same code, and they have themselves lived with honor and integrity.

Roy will be remembered by so many beloved friends and family, many of whom he called brother and sister, and many who were there at the gates welcoming him with open arms.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle, her husband Greg, and their two children and six grandchildren; and his daughter Wendy, her husband Teddy, and their three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Roy was especially proud to have experienced five generations of his family before he was gone.

His daughter Deb, her four children and three grandchildren, and his honored son Dan were among those welcoming him at the gates with Jesus. Also welcoming him were his brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Jeannie Orsland, and their three children, with whom Roy was proud to spend his last years enjoying everyday life and as much football as they could get.

Roy also treasured his love and close family ties with the Beaty clan of Fillmore and the Golson family of Piru, whom he was proud to call family. His lifelong friend Ron Golson, whom Roy called a brother, was also waiting to welcome him at the gates, perhaps hoping they could once again talk about their large trophy bucks together.

Roy was a man who left a great legacy and will remain in our hearts with love.
