Phillip
Johnson
d. Apr 29, 2023
Phillip "Boo" Max Johnson, a beloved family member and talented musician, passed away on April 29th, 2023, at the age of 39. Born on May 1st, 1983, Phillip Max was named after his Grandpas Richard Phillip Wells and Max George Johnson. He grew up in a family that nurtured his love for music and performing. He began playing guitar at an early age, and continued on to master several other instruments, including the piano, drums, and voice. Throughout his life, Phil found passion in writing, producing, and sharing his musical talents with the world. He delighted in performing at local venues and events, produced numerous albums, started his private music label, "Exploding Head Trick," which he ran with passion and dedication, and topped it off with his own quirky sense of style that is best compared with that of Johnny Depp. In his youth, Phil had a love for hockey and soccer, and he was involved in clogging with family and friends as part of the Treasure Valley Cloggers. He had a wonderful sense of humor that allowed him to entertain anyone around him with one-liners, quips, or even a custom musical ditty. His originality and creativity were imaginatively expressed in the layouts for his album covers and many other art forms--created carefully with both traditional and digital art. Phil had an inspired ability to express his thoughts and feelings through music. He composed several albums of original music. He was adept at turning a few key words into creative poetry and was even known to write lyrics to a song in as little as half a day. Phil is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Glennis Wells, and Max and Lila Mae Johnson. He is survived by his loving parents, Ross and Arnette Johnson, and siblings Alicia (Craig) Sheehy, Greg (Angel) Johnson, Suzanne Johnson, and Lanette (Jared) Rodarte, as well as a number of others who knew him as "Uncle Boo". His family and friends will miss him dearly but will always cherish the memories of his music, art, humor, and his warm and generous spirit. A celebration of Phil's life will be held on Friday, May 5th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 224 East Avalon Street, Kuna ID 83634. You are invited to pay respects at 11:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Graveside Service at 1:30pm. Rest in peace, Boo. Your unique flair with music, humor, and fashion will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
