Patsy
Risch
Oct 1, 1937 — Feb 16, 2022
Patsy Jean Risch was born October 1, 1937, in Honolulu, Hawaii to John Feleciano Mello and Cecilia Carerra Mello. She was the only daughter and lived her childhood and teen years in Hawaii. She married Marlin Gene Risch on January of 1958, at the St. Augustine by The Sea Parish, a church in Hawaii. Patsy and Marlin moved to California after they married and started their family there. Patsy gave birth to Shaney and then a year and half later had Marla. Patsy was a waitress for 44 years and a loving mother for 55 years. Patsy's husband Marlin passed away October 3 of 1997, just shortly after Patsy's 60th birthday. She then continued to raise her children and welcome granddaughter Emily into her life in 1998. Even though she had passed before adoption was official, she welcomed Kamaline into her life as her granddaughter. Patsy is known to almost everyone as Grandma. She is everyone's grandma and always made sure you were included. She had the biggest smile and always was willing to show it off. She constantly was cracking jokes with whoever came around. She accepted people for who they were and always had your back. She would always make sure she got those sweets that she wanted every day, without exception. Patsy always loved hearing the loud silly children in the house, as it always made her more lively. She was stubborn and had the strongest heart. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Patsy is survived by her daughters Shaney Risch and Marla Risch; and granddaughters Emily and Kamaline. She was preceded in death by her parents John Mello and Cecilia Mello; husband Marlin Risch; brother John Mello; and her dear friend Richard Whipple. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to First Choice Hospice for the wonderful care Patsy received. The family asks for all to join them in celebration of life on Friday, February 25 at 12 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1985 N Black Cat Road in Meridian, ID 83646. In lieu of flowers, please make donations directly to the family or send them via Venmo, @fostermamaa We love you Grandma. We will forever miss you.
