July 10, 1935 – November 30, 2024
Patricia Lavon (Peterson) Alvey, lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her home in Nampa, Idaho, at the home of her son with loving family around.
Pat was born on July 10, 1935, in Provo, Utah, to Virgil L. Peterson and Beatrice L. Peterson. She grew up alongside her sister, Peggy Basso, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
On July 10, 1953, Pat married the love of her life, Ted L. Alvey, in Provo, Utah. They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on October 10, 1982. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage until Ted's passing on November 5, 2009.
Pat's life was a testament to love, service, and dedication. She loved camping, fishing, and hunting trips with her family and friends. She also loved to read and spent countless hours creating beautiful, personalized quilts, sewing, and crafting. Every grandchild received one of her lovingly handmade quilts, a lasting reminder of her devotion.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pat served in many callings throughout her life. She dedicated her time to serving her neighbors and friends, always offering a helping hand and a kind word. Her love for genealogy allowed her to leave a legacy of family history for generations to come.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Beatrice Peterson; her beloved husband, Ted Alvey; and her sister, Peggy Basso.
She is survived by her five children: Gary (Debbie) Alvey, Mark (Teresa) Alvey, Dennis (Marti) Alvey, Julie (Mike) Eldridge, and Ryan (Cori) Alvey.
Pat also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and 1 great-great-grandchild (with one on the way). Her family was her greatest joy, and her love and legacy will continue to shine through them.
Pat will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous spirit, and her immense love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
