Orden Dee Lowder of Caldwell Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on December 23, 2023.
Dee was born on December 23, 1928, in Anaconda Montana to his parents, Deloyd Lowder and Trilba Jones Lowder. Dee, being the oldest, had three siblings. Two brothers that passed away very young and has a living sister, Carol Hudson. Dee grew up in Rigby Idaho, Middleton Idaho and Caldwell Idaho. He excelled in the sports basketball and baseball where he was known for his amazing arm, agility and speed. Dee was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Even as young as six years old he made sure he attended church every week. Dee served a mission for the Church in Nottingham England. He traveled to and from England by train and ship, traveling on the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary ships to and from. While on his mission his faith grew and became stronger. He was able to save a young boys life from drowning in the Trent River, while on his mission. This resulted in the community opening their doors to the missionaries. Dee returned from his mission and met Delores May Foster at a church dance. Soon after they started dating they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Delores was Dee's love of his life and they were married for 72 years. Dee and Delores had seven children, Russell Dee Lowder, Camerson Gene Lowder, Joann Vernes, Elizibeth Fowble, Sharlene Reid, John Loyd Lowder and David Kendrick Lowder, all still living. Dee's children gave him 25 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. Dee loved the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and hiking and shared this with his family. He became active in the Boy Scouts as an adult and was a troop leader for many years. He earned the rare honor of the Silver Beaver in his scouting. Dee was loved and respected by all that he met. His sense of humor, honesty and giving loving nature were his strongest gifts, among others. He will be missed deeply by more than can be counted. Services will be January 5, 2024, with family viewing at 10 a.m. and funeral beginning at 11 a.m. The funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 15782 Farmway Rd., Caldwell ID 83607. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery, Terrace Lawns Memorial Garden the same day at 2:30 p.m., located at 4255 E. Fairview Ave., Meridian ID 83642.
