Obituary for Norman Eugene Law

Norman Eugene Law was born October 6, 1928 in Logan, Utah to Orville Deem and Aretta Woodbury Law. He was the second of nine children. The family moved numerous times, but Norman’s fondest memories were of the Goat Ranch near Declo, Idaho where he lived while a teenager. He spent time there riding his horse in the hills enjoying nature. During this time he raised a baby badger that he carried around on his shoulder.

Norman fell in love with Rhea Powell and they were married on June 15, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised nine children. Norman rejoiced as his children chose to serve missions and marry in the Temple. He was a strong supporter of each child’s effort to gain additional education, and many excelled. Of their 70 years together, 58 of them were on their farm in Kuna. Norman was a farmer and he built custom homes. Their posterity also includes 52 grandchildren and 104 great grandchildren.

Norman had a strong testimony of the gospel and served as a Seventy, in Elders Quorums, as a Bishop, a High Councilor, and in many teaching positions. He loved teaching, especially the Gospel Doctrine Class. He was called as Stake Patriarch and felt privileged to give most of his grandchildren their patriarchal blessings. He also served as a Temple ordinance worker for 15 years.

As a Seventy he served as a Stake Missionary and then later served two full-time proselyting/family history missions with his wife. Norman loved living the gospel and sharing it with others.
