Margaret May
Lee
Jul 8, 1927 — Feb 22, 2026
Margaret May Lee, age 98, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026.
She was born July 8, 1927, in Long Beach, California. In 1942, during World War II, her family relocated to Mountain View, Missouri. This move shaped her early years and began a life characterized by resilience, adaptability, and strong family values.
On August 5th, 1946, she married Eugene Lee, with whom she shared a devoted partnership. In 1950, they established their home in Melba, Idaho, where they raised their family and became part of the local community. Margaret dedicated herself to caring for her children while they were young and later worked outside the home.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, Sunday drives, geocaching, rock hunting, and spending time with family and friends. She embraced the outdoors and adventure, water-skiing and snow-skiing in her younger years. After retirement, she and her husband spent many happy winters in Arizona.
A skilled seamstress who had long dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, Margaret also found joy in crocheting, knitting, watercolor painting, and basket making. Her handmade creations were gifts of love that will be treasured by her family for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lee, and her eldest son, Richard Melvin.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carol; her son, Gary Dale; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Melba Seniors Center, 115 NE 1st Street, Melba, Idaho. Burial will follow at the Melba Cemetery.
Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, adventurous spirit, and deep devotion to her family. Her long life leaves a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will endure through generations.
