Lester Richard Silvis

1942 – 2026

For 67 years, Lester Richard Silvis and his beloved wife, Marie, walked through life side by side. Their marriage was built on devotion, perseverance, laughter, faith, and a love that deepened through every season of life. Together, they raised a family, weathered challenges, celebrated joys, and created a lifetime of memories that will continue to comfort those who loved them both.

Richard passed peacefully from this life in 2026, surrounded by the love of the family he and Marie built together. To know Richard was to know the importance he placed on family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady presence, generous heart, and enduring love shaped the lives of those around him.

Richard’s life was anchored in his faith and in his Savior, Jesus Christ. His testimony was not simply something he professed; it was a foundation upon which he built his life, his marriage, and his family. Through the joys, trials, and changing seasons of life, his faith provided strength, direction, and the assurance that this earthly life is only one part of an eternal journey. He believed deeply in the promise of eternal families and that through Jesus Christ, death is not the end and those we love are never truly lost to us.

Richard was the proud father of seven children. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, six of his children, and the many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members, and friends whose lives were touched by his presence, example, and love.

While his passing brings tremendous sadness to those who remain, there is also peace in knowing that Richard’s journey home brings a long-awaited reunion. Among those waiting to welcome Richard home was his eldest son, Allen, who preceded him in death more than 30 years ago.

For those who loved Richard, there is comfort in imagining that reunion—a father once again embracing his son after so many years apart. The separation that felt so long in this life is over, and what was once a goodbye has become a joyful hello.

Richard leaves behind a remarkable legacy: 67 years of marriage, seven children, generations of family, and a lifetime of memories, lessons, laughter, challenges overcome, faith, and love shared. His legacy is found not only in the family he leaves behind, but in the values he taught, the example he set, and the pieces of him that will continue through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and generations yet to come.

Although his earthly life has come to an end, his place within his family has not. His stories will continue to be told, his lessons remembered, and the faith and traditions that mattered to him carried forward by those who knew and loved him.

As his family says goodbye for now, they do so with broken hearts, but also with faith and gratitude—grateful for the years they were given with him and comforted by the same faith that anchored Richard throughout his life: faith in Jesus Christ and the promise that families can be together forever.

Welcome home, Dad.

Allen has been waiting a long time for you.

Until we meet again, you will be deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever remembered.
