LeOra Mae Kelley Thacker, 91, of Nampa, ID, died December 30, 2023, peacefully at her daughter's home in New Plymouth, ID, following visits by many of her family in the preceding days. She was born on March 29, 1932, in Albion, ID to David Thomas Kelley and Opal Giles Baumgartner. As a girl, she and her brother learned to dance by watching her parents and other couples at the local Elk's Club. They became the star of the show many times, due to their youthfulness and skills. She met the love of her life, at age 17, Leslie Raymond Thacker, while he was working for her father on the farm in Gooding, ID. They were married on September 4, 1949, in Elko, NV. They were sealed in the Logan, UT temple on November 25, 1959. They lived in Gooding, ID the earlier part of their marriage. While there, they lost their 2nd child to a firearm accident. They moved to Mackay for a short time before settling in the Middleton area. After her husband was severely burned by a high-voltage electrical shock, she cared for him for several months. After Les' recovery, she became a realtor in Canyon County. Using her license, they bought a mobile home park in Nampa, ID that they owned and managed for 23 years. In 1982, they lost their daughter to a motorcycle accident. LeOra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caldwell 5th Ward. She and her husband served two missions, one in St. Louis, Missouri and the other in Raleigh, North Carolina. They also served over a quarter century as temple workers. LeOra was preceded in death by her husband, Les, her parents, four siblings and two children: Leslie Rick and Penney. She is survived by her siblings Ron (Sherry) Kelley of Vale, OR; LaRene Symons of Inkom, ID; Karen Epley of Grantsville, UT; and Jim (Karlene) Kelley of Twin Falls, ID; her daughter Debbie Wilson of Nampa, ID; son Robert Lynn (Clara Sue) Thacker of Middleton, ID; son Matthew Renee Thacker of New Plymouth, ID; daughter Cindy (Galen) Lee of New Plymouth, ID; and daughter Stacey (Kevin) Stevens of Star Valley, WY. Her precious legacy includes 23 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Missionary Fund or a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held January 3, 2024, at 10am in the Caldwell 5th Ward Chapel at 4509 S Montana Ave, Caldwell, ID 83607. LeOra has requested to not hold a viewing. In keeping with her wishes, the family will gather in the Relief Society Room before the service from 9-9:45 am. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, ID.
