Laura Lee Hill passed peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026, after a 7 1/2-year battle with colon cancer. She has gone too soon and will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing she is at peace and in the arms of Jesus.
Laura was born to Les and Peggy Walliser on April 19, 1973, in Caldwell, Idaho. She was the oldest of five siblings: Robbie (deceased), Clinton, Melissa, and Becky. She lived the first 10 years of her life in Emmett, Idaho, then spent a summer living in Walker, Minnesota, where her grandma still lives. This was the favorite summer of her life, and she still reminisced fondly about it.
Her family returned to Idaho, where she attended junior and senior high in Nampa. Laura’s first job was at MPC from 1999 to 2008. There she met the love of her life who would eventually become her husband, Gary Hill.
They were married on Friday, June 13th, 2003, at Jump Creek by Uncle Al Nelson.
They formed a combined family of five kids: Sarah, Keysha, Kimberly, Christian, and Trager. Life was never boring in their busy household!
In 2009-2010, Laura attended Stevens Henager College and earned a medical assistant associate’s degree. She loved helping people, and it was more than a job to her.
Laura went to work for the City of Caldwell Water Department from 2011 to 2024, when she retired and went on disability. She made many friends there and saved countless needy animals that she found on her route. She never met a stray animal she didn’t love and try to find a home for.
Her hobbies included collecting rocks, growing flowers, and photographing every cool cloud she saw. She enjoyed camping and exploring the country with Gary.
She loved her 9 grandkids!
Delilah, Audrey, and Hailey Wilkinson; Hazel June and Sophie Marie Mohan; Noah Swan; Thomas and Jaxon Eubanks; and Arrow Cutler.
Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Gigi), and friend who was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need and whose giving nature and eternal positivity left those who crossed her path better off for knowing her. Laura had a strong relationship with the Lord, who no doubt was beside her during her long battle.
Laura’s family would like to thank her medical team for their compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at Deer Flat Church, Caldwell, Idaho, on October 13 at 10:30 AM. Flowers (Sunflowers were her favorite!) can be sent to Deer Flat Church, 17703 Beet Rd., Caldwell, Idaho, the morning of the service. Or if you prefer, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels, 1009 Everett St., Caldwell, ID 83605, or online at caldwellmealsonwheels.com. (Laura appreciated the positive impact they have on seniors' & shut-in’s lives.)
