Kody
Hansen
d. Jan 4, 2025
On January 4, 2025, Kody passed away near his home in Parma, Idaho. Kody was born on July 26, 1991, to Kerry and Sara Hansen in Nampa, Idaho and was the oldest of four children. He was raised in Nampa, Idaho and graduated from Nampa High School where he wrestled competitively. From the time Kody was very young, he completely embodied adventure and was seemingly, not afraid of anything. On any given day, Kody could easily be found jumping or flipping off something. He enjoyed skateboarding, wakeboarding, hunting, and many other high energy activities. Kody's humor was one of many defining traits, he was always known as a comedian and prankster. He had an uncanny ability to make anyone laugh, whether with a perfectly timed joke, a silly comment, or his signature antics that left everyone in stitches. His quick wit and playful nature brought light to even the darkest moments, making him a joy to be around. Kody's infectious laughter and smile lines were a constant reminder of how much he loved life, and he never missed an opportunity to make others smile. His humor wasn't just a part of him, it was a gift that he shared freely with those lucky enough to know him. Kody met his wife, Chelsea Jenks when he was just 14 years old at a New Years Eve dance at the Deer Flat Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building in Nampa, Idaho. Five years later, at 19 and 20 years old, Kody and Chelsea were married on April 9th, 2011, in the Boise Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they welcomed three beautiful daughters: Sunny, Clementine, and Daisy, into their family. Kody and Chelsea moved to Rexburg where he studied at, then graduated from, BYU-Idaho with a bachelor's degree in Paramedicine. After graduation in 2013, Kody began his career in paramedicine with an internship at EMSA (which later became AMR), in Oklahoma City where he and Chelsea welcomed Sunny into the world. After a year in Oklahoma, they moved to Spokane, Washington where he continued to work for AMR. The Hansens knew they wanted to be close to family, so they returned home to Nampa, Idaho, while pregnant with their 2nd daughter, Clementine, who was born shortly after. Once in Nampa, Kody was offered a job with Ada County Paramedics. Kody found a home away from home and found meaningful and lasting friendships with co-workers he came to love like family. Kody continued his career with Ada County Paramedics until his death. Kody was a kind, loving, and serviceable man. He was a hero to those that he worked so hard to serve, in both his personal and his professional life. While still in Nampa, they gave birth to their third and final daughter, Daisy. They then decided they wanted to have more land and a hobby farm. They loved their land and working with animals and teaching their girls to appreciate all nature has to offer. Kody was multifaceted with many talents, and he lacked a "stop button." He loved providing for his family. He was a highly proficient paramedic, with the rank of lieutenant, a field training officer who trained other paramedics and EMTs, and also a trained Flight paramedic. He continually strived to become better at his craft and improve his ability to serve others. Kody held himself to the highest standard. He believed in sound medicine and in quality patient care. In his eyes, many of his efforts never felt enough, but in reality, what his efforts produced consistently exceeded expectations for those around him. He had the wonderful ability to pick up and hone new interests and talents, and he dedicated his time to perfecting each of them. He was a devoted husband, masterful father, hunter, banjo player, and friend. He loved his faith, being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was dedicated to being close to his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Chelsea Hansen, his children, Sunny, Clementine, and Daisy; his parents Kerry and Sara Hansen, his siblings, Kerek Hansen (Katie), Kyden Hansen (Nicole), and Taetyn Terry (Jordan); and his in-laws Gary and Vicky Jenks. He is also survived by 3 brothers-in-law, Kyle Jenks, Bradley Jenks, and Tom Bugby; 3 sisters-in law, Shantel Bugby, Sarah Jenks, and Paulina Jenks; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Blair and Joann Manwaring, Mary Rae Hansen, and his nephew: Keaton Hansen. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with a viewing beginning at 9-10:45am, Saturday, Jan 11, 2025, in Nampa, Idaho 83686. Graveside service will conclude at the Melba Cemetery 7277 Base Line Road, Melba, ID 83641 Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Kody's memorial webpage at: https://zeyerfuneralchapel.com/obituaries/kody-hansen To support his young family, you can donate at the Go Fund Me Account: https://shorturl.at/UdxRj
