Joyce Elaine Chandler Haverfield passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Nampa, Idaho, from heart-related illness. She was born on May 4, 1928, in Weiser, Washington County, Idaho, to Clarence Whitney Chandler and Franka May Nitcher Chandler. Joyce was their first child and grew up in Weiser, where she attended Weiser High School. She later attended Brigham Young University for one year. Joyce had a lifelong love of music and singing. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she faithfully served in many church callings throughout her life, including in the Relief Society presidency, as a seminary instructor, and in family history and name extraction missions. While in Weiser, Joyce met the love of her life, Robert Amos Haverfield, and they were married on April 9, 1948, in Weiser, Idaho. They shared 73 wonderful years together. Over the years, the Haverfield family made their homes in Weiser, Boise, and Nampa, Idaho, as well as Missoula, Montana. Joyce also spent time in Adelaide, Australia, while serving in the Australia Adelaide Mission with her husband. Joyce was a dedicated homemaker—proudly calling herself a "domestic engineer." She also served as President of the Republican Women's organization in Montana. She loved teaching, serving others, and spending time with her family. Her passions included family history, sewing, music, and temple work. She especially cherished her later years spent with her younger sister, Lynn. Joyce will be remembered for her kindness, encouragement, and deep love for her family. She is survived by her children: David (Jodell), Joel (Kim), Cindy (Ty), Heidi (Clint), and Lona (Peter); 25 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Franka Chandler; her son, Joel Haverfield; and her granddaughter, Franka Elizabeth. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 121 N. Canyon Street, Nampa, Idaho. A viewing will precede the service at 10:00 a.m., and graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th Street North, Nampa, Idaho.
