Joseph Christopher "Joe" Woods

Joseph C. Woods, 87, of Nampa Idaho, passed away on January 6, 2024. He was born to parents Thelma and Lucian Woods, May 15th, 1936, in King Hill, Idaho. Joseph graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1954 and was in the Army Reserves.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jessie, James, and Beman Woods and sister Leola Wright. He is survived by twin brother John (Marilyn) Woods, wife Joan Woods, daughter Michelle (Albert Schmalz) Woods and son Michael (Lisa) Woods. Grandchildren Morgan (Brian) Holmes and Hayden Woods and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph "Joe" was hired by Union Pacific Railroad in 1954 and was a dedicated employee for 44 years. He worked in Glenns Ferry and Nampa, Idaho before transferring to St. Louis, Missouri for the last 10.5 years of his Union Pacific career. Joe retired in 1998 and returned to his beloved Idaho.

Joe was a dashingly handsome man with sparkling blue eyes, and a mischievous streak. He married the love of his life, Joan, in March of 1957 and was a devoted husband and father. Joe shared a special bond with his twin brother, and they were constant fixtures in one another's lives. Incredibly athletic, he loved sports, participating in football, basketball, and track in high school and on several city league teams. He continued his love of sports throughout his life playing golf and fishing whenever he could. Joe was deeply loved by his family and leaves behind nothing but incredible memories.
