Jon Davis Huber March 31, 1937– October 16, 2025

Jon Davis Huber passed away peacefully at home in Meridian, Idaho, on October 16, 2025. He was born just after midnight on March 31, 1937, in Mesa, Arizona, to Albert and Lapreel Huber.

At age 13, Jon moved with his family to Meridian, where he quickly found his love for animals—choosing a horse over a cow when given the choice. He joined the band, FFA, Scouts, and shop class and carried an early curiosity for chemistry.

Jon attended Boise State College and the University of Idaho, earning his Master of Science in Dairy Science in 1965, and later continued his studies at North Carolina State University. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern Australia Mission, headquartered in Melbourne, and remained a faithful servant throughout his life.

Jon married his sweetheart, Violet Coston, and together they built a loving home across four states—welcoming a child in each. His long career in food science included work with Safeway, Foremost McKesson, Germantown, and Nestlé, where he helped create products like the chocolate coating for Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and Push-Ups.

Jon loved music and playing the trumpet and harmonica and enjoyed woodworking, leathercraft, gardening, and tinkering of every kind. Above all, he loved his family.

Jon's life was one of quiet faith, deep curiosity, and enduring love—a life well-lived and well-loved.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; children Jennifer (Marlin) Smith, Allison (Cody) Adams, Hillary (Mike) Colborn, and Jonathan Huber; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, at 9:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 2555 South Stoddard Road, Meridian. Viewing begins at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Meridian Cemetery.
