Obituary

Johnny Orlando Garza Sr., 58 years old, passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2025, at 11:54 p.m. at Saint Alphonsus in Nampa. He was known as OG.

He was born in Norwalk, California, on September 25th, 1967. He resided in Nampa, Idaho.

Our brother grew up in Nyssa, Oregon, and lived in Caldwell and Nampa.

Johnny O. Garza was born to Juan M. Garza and Mary H. Garza; our brother went to school from elementary school to Nyssa High School, where he graduated in 1986.

Our brother served in the Army National Guard. Our brother worked at Albertsons, Subway, Jacksons, OmniPure, Maverick, and many other places in the area of Caldwell and Nampa.

Our brother was a big San Francisco 49ers fan; he loved old-school music, he loved Mexican music, and he also loved putting model cars together. His favorite car was the 1965 Chevy Impala, and he loved collecting Hot Wheels and etching many beautiful things on glass or mirrors. He was a very crafty young man; whenever we went to the stores, he would come out with at least 7 to 8 cars, and then a few weeks later, he would buy a tote to put his Hot Wheels in the tote. Our brother had a wonderful personality and loved helping everyone, especially family. As long as you gave him back what he helped you with, he was ok with helping you when you needed the help; he would even help a stranger even if he didn't know that person. He had a school friend whom we see as a little sister, and that's Mia Lara. He loved making fun of the Dallas Cowboys, and he loved telling our mom, our queen, the Kansas City Chiefs were no good. He loved arguing with our mom about many things. He would say, "Mom just hung up on me; she kept telling me to stop or she would hang up, and she did." Our brother entered his cars he made in the shows, like the Roadster show they had in Boise and all around the Treasure Valley. He won many first-place awards.

He loved telling jokes; his best thing of all time was he loved making fun of the Dallas Cowboys. He would call them Cowturds and would tell me we were going to the Toilet Bowl, and he would call our quarterback Dak Passnot lol, the girls at Wheeler's loved him.

Our brother is survived by our queen, Mary H. Garza of Nyssa; his siblings: Sanjuanita E. Garza Cuellar of Caldwell, Elizabeth Garza Rivas of Nampa, Eddie Rene Garza (wife Vanessa Garza) of Texas, Michael Leroy Garza (wife Terra Garza) of Nampa, Pablo M. Garza (wife Lisa Garza) of Caldwell, and Barbara Garza Daniel of Nyssa; his grandson Christian Juarez of Nampa; and numerous nephews and nieces that he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Juan Manuel Garza; his godparents, Donicio and Julia DeLeon; his aunts Juanita Ynigez and Eufemia Melendez; his padrino Fransico Rodriguez; his brother-in-law, Henry Cuellar; and his grandparents, Josefina Macias Hernandez, Pablo Hernandez, and Trinidad and Manuel Garza; numerous aunts and uncles; our cousin Nettie Martinez-Roybal; and nephew Eddie R Jr.
