Hopson

John Paul Hopson, aged 90, of Anderson, California, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025.
Born on May 4, 1935, in Bedford, Iowa, John lived a life marked by hard work, service, and devotion to family and community. He built a career as both a contractor and electronics engineer, applying his skills with precision and integrity. John was proud to have served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and medic. His faith was central to his life, and he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in many capacities. He found joy in simple wonders—especially his fascination with hummingbirds—and dedicated time to mentoring youth through the Boy Scouts and Girls Camp, instilling values of leadership, service, and a strong work ethic. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Opal, and two children. He is survived by three children, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and survived by a sister and brother. John was also preceded in death by his second wife, Shirleene Thiel.
