John
England
d. May 16, 2026
John Kenneth England of Nampa, Idaho, was born April 29th, 1940, and gained his angel wings May 16th, 2026. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Lloyd and Martha England. John was the youngest of two children. His father, Lloyd Sr., was in the Navy, and that is where John learned his love for his country and would later join the Marines from 1961 to 1965.
After graduating high school, he went to college, where he met the love of his life, Wynema. They married in Aug of 1961 and shared almost 63 years of marriage until her passing in April of 2023. They had two daughters, JoLynn and Sara. Later the family grew with an adopted son, Jimmy; 5 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 6 great grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; 1 great-great granddaughter; and significant others.
John was a hard worker. His vision and hard work led him to accomplish his own company, John England Construction. He did many projects in Boise, both commercial and residential, and worked on several other projects at home. He taught his granddaughters how to read blueprints, built them a playhouse on the property, and rarely took breaks. He built his youngest daughter's and son-in-law's first home and was extremely proud of it. He added on a mother-in-law quarters to the second home that they had for Grandma Kiko. Finishing a vision and seeing the joy in people's faces made him proud of the work he did.
He loved many sports. Golf, football, baseball, hunting, fishing, and always camping. He loved hunting and fishing with his son, teddy bear, and great-grandson. He was good at making a bet on who was going to win the game, and somehow even when he lost, you owed him. You could sit down next to him with a full plate of food, and somehow there would be items that disappeared from your plate. He created his own happy dance and made sure when he taught you that you had the right goofy facial expression to go with it.
He had a deep love for his family, friends, and the Lord. When he became a Christian, many things changed for him. Every meal, hands were folded, heads were bowed, and grace was said. John and Wynema attended Eldorado in Boise for many years. Around 1987 his father-in-law, Ozero Waterman, started attending the Nampa Church of Christ. Later, John and Wynema started attending there as well. In this little church he baptized some of his granddaughters and his grandson-in-law. He walked his granddaughter down the aisle, led singing with his great-grandson, and won a few chili contests. He treasured his relationships with his brothers and sisters in Christ. John protected, guided, joked, prayed, played, sang, danced, and provided for his family and friends. No matter what he was going through, he never wanted a fuss over him. As simple as he liked things and his joking around, his deep individual love for us all was pure and never-ending. He has many titles, Daddy, Grandpa, Gampers, Gpa, great grandpa, great great grandpa, friend, uncle, son, brother, and husband, but one of his great grandsons said it best: he's the G.O.A.T. Greatest of all time. 86 years will never be enough, but you can still see him in the eyes of his children, grandchildren, and their children. As John and Wynema's legacy grows, the love continues with purity and is never-ending.
John is survived by his two daughters JoLynn (Greg) Dennett and Sara (Rob) Cross; son Jimmy (Paulette) Thompson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother Martha, father Lloyd, brother Lloyd Jr., wife Wynema, great-grandson Donavin, father-in-law Ozro Waterman, mother-in-law Velma Waterman, many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
