Joanne Enid Thomas Leavitt, 85, of Meridian formerly of Caldwell passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. She was born August 6, 1933 in Logan, Utah to William Eugene and Marion May Elliott Thomas. She attended Paul High School, Nampa Business College and Ricks College. Joanne married Clair H. Leavitt on September 1, 1953 in the Salt Lake Utah LDS Temple. She and Clair were the parents for four children. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. She is survived by her husband Clair Leavitt; her children: Mathew (Celinda) Leavitt, Carol (Craig) DeFriez, Donald Leavitt and David Leavitt; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sisters: Arlene Gibson, Jennie Morrison, Norma Jolley; brother Garth (Jackie) Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20 at the Church located at 215 S. Third Ave. West in Marsing. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 19 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa (208-467-7300) and again at the Church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
