Jo Anne G. Gardner, aged 78, passed away of natural causes on February 8, 2024, in Nampa, Idaho. She was born in January of 1946 in Douglas, Arizona, and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Reed Gardner, and her parents, Jack and Evelyn Grafe. Jo Anne was a vibrant and compassionate woman with many interests and a willingness to help others. She loved music, literature, learning about ancient cultures, and studying the scriptures. She and her husband, Herb, served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, one in Australia and one in mainland China. Jo Anne loved researching family history and doing genealogical work, as well as being involved in scouting. She earned the Wood Badge and Order of the Arrow recognition, and enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, camping, swimming, and hiking. She is survived by her children, Caryl D. Giles, married to Terry and residing in Germany, Jack E. Lewis, residing in West Valley City, Utah, Marc E. Lewis, married to Jan and residing in Hillsboro, Oregon, Leslie A. Rydalch, married to Carl and residing in St. Anthony, Idaho, David W. Lewis, married to Lizet and residing in Laramie, Wyoming, Nicholas P. Lewis, residing in Nampa, Idaho, Steven Gardner, married to Caralee and residing in Cedar Hills, Utah, Janet Von Forrell, married to Dennis and residing in Johnstown, Colorado, Mark Gardner, married to Janice and residing in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kathryn Gardner, residing in Eagle Mountain, Utah. She is also survived by her aunt, Margie Bunnell, residing in Bluewater, New Mexico, and her sister, Charlene Busby, residing in the Phoenix area. Jo Anne left a wonderful legacy of thirty grandchildren and fifty-three great-grandchildren. Family, friends, and others are invited to attend the memorial services on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' church building, located at 607 W. Locust Ln. in Nampa, Idaho. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10:00 am and the ceremony to reminisce and honor the life of Jo Anne Gardner will begin at 11:00. Interment will take place at a later time.
