Jelene Ruth (Clements) Baird, 87, was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on August 3, 1938, to George Albert 'Bert' Clements and Velma Ruth Palmer. She passed away on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her children.

Her parents divorced when she was 12 years old, and she lived with relatives in Grand View for a year. She and her brothers then spent 6 months in a children's home in Boise. Her father passed away in 1953, and she went to live with an aunt in Boise, where she finished her high school years.

She graduated from Boise High School in 1957 and married Michael Dane McCoy on August 24, 1957. They lived in several towns in Idaho throughout their life together. She worked at Idaho First National Bank, Idaho State University, Washington State University, Meridian Wood Products, Roseberry Laboratories, United Food & Commercial Workers Local 368A, Greg C. Mayes Financial, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Harbor Lights Counseling, and Canyon Counseling Center. She was an involved member of the Melba 105 Rebekah Lodge.

She and Mike were later divorced. She married Wilbur Dean Baird on May 1, 1981, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 1982.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Sunday School, Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoyed quilting alone or with her daughters, and loved visiting with her dear friends and family. She enjoyed reading, furniture refinishing, crafts, and singing, and served countless friends and neighbors. Always looking for ways to serve, she created numerous quilts for charity throughout the years, gifting many baby quilts to children born in her various church wards.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bert; mother, Velma; brother, George Clements; husband, Dean Baird; granddaughter, Jennifer Goertzen; and great-grandson, Jaxson Koegler. She is survived by an aunt, Jeannine Lloyd; her brother, Phillip (LaRue) Clements; daughters, Michele (Samuel) Dawson, Tamara (Kim) Koegler, Susan (Stephen) Goertzen, Melanie (Larry) Leavenworth, and Cynthia (Robert) Parent; stepchildren Bonnie (Redd) Holtry, Gerald Baird, and William (Carla) Baird; 37 grandchildren; and nearly 100 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 11AM Thursday, February 26, 2026, with a viewing at 10AM prior to the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 121 N. Canyon Street, Nampa, Idaho, 83651. Interment will be at the Melba Cemetery following the service.
