Jeffery Lynn Winters was born March 26, 1954 in St. Anthony, Idaho to David R. and Barbara J. Schaefer Winters. He passed away unexpectedly July 12, 2021, in Meridian, Idaho. He was the youngest of two children and was raised on a dairy farm in Eastern Idaho. That boy had more dreams and ambition than that little town and farm could hold. He watched the skies and knew that one day he would be flying a plane. His full life began when he met Celinda Stone, on a bus for a high school ski trip to Park City, Utah. Jeff started teasing her then and never quit. He craved the family life that they built together. They were married January 27, 1973, in Nampa, Idaho. A few years later, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple, taking their two oldest children with them. Celinda brought the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ into his life. They absolutely loved being together, even if he was teasing. He served in the Idaho National Guard for six years and helped with the cleanup of the Teton Dam break of 1976. He was proud he was able to serve his country - how grateful he was for his freedom. Jeff and Celinda's first home was in Ashton, Idaho. Celinda could see Jeff working on the grain elevators from their trailer. It was in Ashton where they met their life-long friends, Teddy & Delena Stronks. The couple next had a home in Chester, Idaho, where Jeff worked for Loosli Farms. He loved driving the tractors, especially when his first-born, Brandon, got to ride on his lap. Their humble home had a beautiful view of the Teton Mountains, which everyone loved. While working at Loosli Farms, he learned his trade as an electrician from Robert Reiman. Everyone liked Jeff there because of his expertise working on their equipment. He was a problem solver all his life. Jeffery Brandon was born February 10, 1974. A few years later, Angela Jean came along February 22, 1977. Jack David quickly decided to join the family November 9, 1978. Lastly, Tina Lyn made the family complete on May 15, 1982. All the children were born in St. Anthony, Idaho. When Tina was just two months old, the family moved to Boise, Idaho. Jeff was employed by a trailer manufacturer (which he hated) then worked for Romar Electric. He loved his job there and worked for 25 years, making many life-long friends. In March 2004, Jeff and Celinda branched out and started Winters Electric. Jeff's work ethic followed him to their business winning them many loyal clients. He was well known for his trouble shooting and enjoyed bringing "light" into other people's lives. In 2002, after much studying, hard work, and determination, he fulfilled his life-long dream of becoming a private pilot. Flying his own plane was a feeling like no other. Everyone in the family who wanted to got a chance to ride with him. His greatest delight was giving people a ride in his plane, which was ALWAYS clean. The joy of his life was his grandchildren. Any chance he got to spoil them, he did. If there was water around, everyone had better watch out. Jeff was going to get someone wet! Some of his favorite days were spent from open to close at Wahooz with his grandkids in tow. He received so much happiness from watching other people play. He never cared about his "insignificant needs." If he could sacrifice something for someone, he jumped at the chance. After his baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served faithfully in many ways. He was thankful for his membership and the light it brought to his life, the direction it gave his family and their lives. After a few years, Jeff turned his two-winged toy in for a 4-wheeled vehicle. Boy did he love the St. Anthony sand dunes! It was his happy place, as long as family was with him. He was lucky to take just one more trip last month, to at last have Celinda ride on the dunes not only once, but many times. Although his passing was sudden, there have been so many tender mercies we have been able to share with our husband and father and all the special people in his life. Jeff and Celinda had plans for retirement and to play on their Rzr's. He was taken too soon, we are left craving his presence and laughter and more adventures. No matter how much more time we could have had, it still wouldn't have been enough. How grateful we are for the promise of the gospel of Jesus Christ, knowing we can all be reunited. Jeff is survived by his wife, Celinda Stone Winters, his children, Jeffery Brandon (Tangi), Angie (Read) Young, Tina (Clint) Sampson, 13 grandchildren, and his sister, Sandi Green. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack David, his mother, Barbara Jean Frank, step-father, Jim Frank, and father, Dave R. Winters. Services will be under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel Friday July 16, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2555 Stoddard Road in Meridian. Viewing will be 11 am to 12:45 pm with the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at the Meridian Cemetery following the service.
