James (Jack) Edward Hargrove, Sr, 76 of Nampa died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his home of natural causes. He was born October 15, 1937 in Wynne, Arkansas to Ralph Hargrove and Fannie Houston. He attended schools in Marked Tree, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1955 - January 1958. In 1960 he moved to California. It was there that he met and married Jean Lamb on December 22, 1961 and they lived in Southern California until 2007 when they moved to Idaho to be by family. His career was in sales. The last 13 years before he retired he worked for the California State Lottery. He loved working with the young people as a church youth leader, scout leader, life coach and swim coach. He touched many lives and we will all miss him. He loved fishing, cooking and spending time with family. He loved God and was not afraid to tell others. Jack is survived by his wife Jean; his sons Jimmy Hargrove of Boise, David (Christine) Hargrove of Meridian; his daughter Sandra (Jon) Nelson of Marsing; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers Jerry (Linda) Richardson of TN and Rick (Liz) Mills of Meridian; three sisters: Janie (Vern) McPherson of Arkansas, Ann (Ace) Wilkes of TN and Bobbie (Bud) Arnold of AZ; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Ron and Joan Bauer; special friends: Brandy Traer of NV, Phil and Gay Geeson of CA and many friends and extended family. A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. 467-7300. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
