Obituary

James "Jim" Edward Brewster, 84, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Jan. 9, 2024, at a local hospital due to natural causes. Jim was the first-born child to James L. Brewster and Lora Owen Brewster on September 25, 1939, in Choudrant, LA. He grew up in Louisiana and El Dorado, Arkansas. He attended BYU in Provo, Utah and served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweden and Finland.

On June 14, 1963, he married Carolyn Evans in El Dorado, Arkansas. They made their home first in El Dorado, Arkansas and later in Nampa, Idaho. His work included being a Policeman, Purchasing Clerk at Murphy Oil and owner and operator of Jim's Photography Studio in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Jim was a loving husband, father and provider. He loved to tell jokes and always watched Fox News. His favorite hobbies included: fishing, photography, playing cards, dancing and country music and being with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn; children: Regina (Kasey) Brewster, Renae Brewster, Robin (Darren) Choate, Rebecca (Matt) Attebery, J.R. Brewster; nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Faye Cooper; brother, Gary Brewster. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11am January 13, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 Indiana Ave., Caldwell, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
