James Martin Belknap December 10, 1936 - March 4, 2022 James M. Belknap, age 85, died March 4th as the result of a stroke. Jim was born December 10, 1936 to Dr. and Mrs. V.V. Belknap of Payette. He was raised in Payette and graduated from Payette High School in 1954. Jim's professional career initially began in banking, but later shifted to insurance. Jim and his wife Jan, of 29 years, lived in Nampa. Together they enjoyed traveling, cruising and camping. One of their favorite camping spots was Tripod Meadows with its beautiful small lake in the hills west of Smith Ferry, Idaho. Jim, like his father and son Gary, also enjoyed hunting and fishing in Idaho. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Belknap, and brothers Bob, Tom and Dan Belknap. He is survived by his sisters Barbara Belknap (Judy) and Mary Buchanan (Darwin); as well as his children Susan (??), Gary (Sandra) and Rod (Becky) and their families. At his request there will be no service. A private family remembrance will take place in the spring.
