Grant
Kirkham
Mar 27, 1937 — May 26, 2017
Grant Elwood Kirkham, 80, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father at his home in Kuna, Idaho with his loving wife and son Burton by his side. Grant was born on March 27, 1937 in Lehi, Utah to Burton and Edith Chilton Kirkham. He was raised and attended schools in Lehi. Grant married Roberta Morgan on November 22, 1954 in Riverton, Utah. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple. They enjoyed 62 years together raising their 5 children. They lived in Lehi until Grant retired and then moved to Kuna, Idaho. Grant owned and operated a service station, "Grant's Hi-Way Service", for six years in Lehi where he made many friends and was highly respected in the community. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 3 Union for 42 years. Grant was a Superintendent for Gibbons and Reed Construction Co. for 35 years, where he was known for his outstanding job performance. Everyone knew when he was given a job to oversee that it would be done right and completed on time. All those who worked with him became life-long friends. Grant had a special rapport with everyone he met. Grant enjoyed being outdoors with his horses, cows and sheep. He especially loved the deer hunting adventures with his wife and sons. He was always willing to help his neighbors, whether pushing snow or digging a hole with his CAT Backhoe. Grant is survived by his wife Roberta; three sons: Kim (DeAnne), Jay (Kathi), Burton; and two daughters Elane and Elizabeth; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister Beth Barratt. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Sherman and Kenneth; one sister Madge; and a grandson Cody Brooks. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at the Lehi City Cemetery, 1525 N. 600 E. in Lehi, UT. Condolences may be expressed at ZeyerFuneralChapel.com. 208-467-7300
