Obituary

Glenn Edwin Nelsen Sr. passed away January 26, 2026 at a local hospital. Glenn was born May 8, 1948 to Gilbert and Lucille Nelsen in Englewood, California. In his youth Glenn loved collecting coke bottles, going to the movies, and playing outside until the street lights came on.

Glenn was a chef by trade but also held many other jobs in his life time and accomplished quite a lot in the technology industry. In his later years Glenn enjoyed computers, college football, the San Francisco 49ers, family camping trips, and fancy dinners with his wife.

Thoughts from Glenn

I was born in 1948 and have lived a full, adventurous, and meaningful life. I spent my lifetime working as a chef, a profession I truly loved, while also accomplishing much in other areas, including technology. As a young boy, I was adventurous and always eager to be outside and playing. I was blessed with great parents and raised with love.

In 1974, I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior. Though I fell away from my faith for a time, my belief never truly left me. Life brought both blessings and hardships, lessons learned, discipline received, and moments of severe judgment. Looking back, I recognize all of it as God's guidance, and I am grateful for every step of the journey.

I was married for 51 years to my beloved wife, who passed on January 10, 2021. Together we raised five children—three sons and two daughters—who have always been the pride of my life. I was blessed to be a father, a grandfather to 22 grandchildren, and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren, all of whom I love deeply.

I often told my children and grandchildren that no matter what, I wanted to go where it was holy, placing my faith above all else. About three and a half years ago, God placed a question on my heart: "What about God?" That question stopped me in my tracks for days and led me fully back to my faith. From that moment on, I knew I was on the right road. I leave behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, love for family, and gratitude for all that life—both the good and the bad—had to teach me.
