Ginger Brinkerhoff Mikesell Obituary Ginger Brinkerhoff Mikesell passed away peacefully at 7:50am, May 13, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 82 years old at the time of her death.

Ginger was born on May 28, 1943, in Fillmore, Utah, to Wendell D. Brinkerhoff and Stella Hutchings Brinkerhoff. She grew up in Fillmore, Utah, where she was active in school, church, music, and theater. She graduated from Fillmore Elementary School and later from Millard High School in 1961. During her youth she received multiple individual awards and participated in numerous school and community productions, including performances in the Flowell Ward road show and theatrical plays such as "Boyfriend for Dinner," "The Closed Door," and "Dark Wind."

She possessed a creative spirit and artistic talent from an early age. In 1961, she received a Vocational Day Award for earning second place in an art competition at the College of Southern Utah for a mosaic she created from plastic materials in her high school art class.

Her faith was an important part of her early life. Ginger completed four years of Seminary studies including Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, and Missionary Training. She faithfully served in church callings as a Primary teacher and Y.W.M.I.A. activity counselor and also enjoyed playing on the Flowell Ward girls softball team.

After graduating from Salt Lake Comptometer School in 1963, Ginger worked in the filing department of the Genealogical Society of the Church offices in Salt Lake City from 1963 to 1964.

Ginger met her husband Lawrence Andrew Mikesell (Larry) on Jan 13, 1964. They married later that same year on August 21st. They would go on to share 58 years of marriage until Larry's passing in November 2022. During this time they were blessed with 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

After they were married, Ginger and Lawrence made their first home in Salt Lake City. Utah. During their first years together, they lived in a few different areas, including Springville and Provo (Utah) and Pocatello and American Falls (Idaho). They eventually made Aberdeen their permanent home, where they lived for 48 years.

Ginger loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She especially enjoyed creating a beautiful yard and home for her family. She will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and love of family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Andrew Mikesell; her parents, Wendell D. and Stella Hutchings Brinkerhoff; her siblings, Delbert Brinkerhoff, James D. Brinkerhoff, Fay W. Brinkerhoff, Lee H. Brinkerhoff, Pearl Robison, Golda Allgood, and Earl B. Brinkerhoff.

She is survived by her children, Tracy Mikesell (Laura), Cami Ricks (Nathan), Julie Hofhine, Brynn Mikesell (Cynthia), and Kevin Mikesell (Stacey); along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Aberdeen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life luncheon for Ginger held immediately following the service at the LDS church house in Aberdeen.
