She passed peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by family at Aspen Creek Senior Living. Gayla was born to Clarence O. Person and Lucile J. She graduated from South Salem High School in June of 1960 and went on to pursue her practical nursing degree, graduating on August 24th of 1961. She had many hobbies, but her favorite was quilting. She also loved crocheting and made many different projects. Some of the most notable were the tablecloths she made for each of her children when they got married and several other projects that were entered into the State Fair, winning first place. Her faith was very important to her and she served in many different capacities in the Nazarene Church throughout the years. She is survived by her children: Belinda Breshears, Nathan Peck, Norman Peck, Veda Lanham, and their spouses, as well as 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Larry Person, Merlin Person, Victor Person, Ole Person, and Kenneth Person, her sister Shirin Sahnow, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
