Gary L. Condon, 82, passed away on April 28, 2022, of natural causes. Gary was born on February 17, 1940, in Danville, IL to the late Robert and Jean (Irwin) Condon. Gary grew up in Eastern Washington and Western Canada and graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1957. He attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID, where he made lifelong friends and was a member of the Harmonaires. He married Delores Kalkbrenner, of Litchfield, MN, on March 11, 1961, in Litchfield, MN. He completed his BS in Music Education at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN and began his teaching and coaching career in McCall, ID. In McCall, the Condons were founding members of the Nazarene Church, gathered a few more lifelong friends and became avid bridge players. Gary began skiing at Brundage and continued to ski the Brundage slopes for the next 60 years where he taught his kids and grandkids to ski. Gary taught in Nyssa, OR and Caldwell, ID. Gary directed several musicals, conducted Handel's Messiah for several years, and gave everything to all of his students. In 1979, Gary and Delores moved to Litchfield, MN, where they owned and managed The Red Castle, a board and care home. Gary was active in the Litchfield Community Theater and the Litchfield Nazarene Church. He began working for West Central Youth for Christ in Willmar, MN, as the director of their music department. His time with YFC was filled with private lessons for students, a busy concert schedule and world mission and concert tours. The students and families that were a part of his life continued to enrich his life until his final days. After retirement, Gary and Delores moved back to Idaho. Gary was involved in several music adventures, attended all the NNU sporting events, traveled with a camping service group, and gave piano lessons. Between their friends and family, Gary and Delores always had a busy entertaining and social schedule. Gary never missed a day to ski, fish, golf, or help someone. Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; their daughter Kimberly; and his brother Wendell Condon. He is survived by brothers Ron ( Colette) Condon, Dwayne (Jenifer) Condon; his sisters in law Sally Condon, Janice Markovich; his children: Leah (Randy) Norris, Robert (Amy ) Condon, Gerald (Margaret) Condon; his grandchildren: Melinda (Mike) Skoglund, Richie (Leah) Norris, Devin (Jennifer) Norris; Daniel Condon, William Condon, Laurie (Bruce) Holmlund, Elenice Condon; and great-grandchildren: Arlee and Remi Norris, Jayden and Ryann Holmlund. A graveside service and gathering in McCall, ID is being planned for early Fall. Gary requested that any memorials are sent to West Central Youth for Christ, 106 Litchfield Ave SW, Willmar, MN 56201.
