Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald (Don) Edward Mowery, of Boise, Idaho, who passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at the age of 79.

Don was born on April 11, 1945, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Charles and Ruth Mowery. He graduated from Wilder High School in May 1963 and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army. He enlisted in October 1963 and spent most of his time stationed in Würzburg, Germany, where he served as a Personnel Specialist. Don earned several commendations for his service, including the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

On November 21, 1964, Don married the love of his life, Karen Jensen, in Kuna, Idaho. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and companionship. Don spent the majority of his life in Boise, where he was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

His wisdom, laughter, and unconditional support will be missed by all who knew him. An avid lover of the great outdoors, Don enjoyed camping and fishing, but his greatest joy was always the time he spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Karen, and their children Kenneth, Ronald (Holly), and Brian (Michelle). He was a proud grandfather to Samantha, Maxwell, Jordan, Mikayla, Bryson, Isaac, and Luke, and great-grandfather to Parker and Brooklyn, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Funeral services will be held on March 14, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Kuna Cemetery, 1321 W Boise Street in Kuna, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of America in Don's honor. His legacy of humor, patience, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
