Obituary

Donald Ray Hargis passed away Thursday, Nov 24, 2016 in Nampa, Idaho surrounded by family and friends. He was 87. He was born Mar 9, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyoming. Don is survived by his wife Verna Hargis of Nampa; three sons: David Ray Hargis of San Jose, CA, George Craig Hargis of Carlsbad, NM, Steven Jay Hargis of Greeley, CO; and daughter Shelli Kay Hargis of Casper, WY. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his father John Hargis; his mother Erma Crogan; his wife Betty Lou Hargis; and grandson Donald Thomas Hargis. Don worked over 30 years as an announcer and General Manager at KWYO Radio Station in Sheridan, Wyoming until his retirement in 1985. Through the years he has been a member of the Shriners, Masons, Eastern Star, Rotary, and the Elks. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Don loved playing the keyboard, golf, and working out in his garage on woodworking projects. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec 3, 2016 at the LDS Church located at 607 W Locust Lane in Nampa with a viewing from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services.
