Dixie
Christensen
Sep 17, 1949 — Feb 20, 2026
Dixie Dee Christensen, age 76, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away from natural causes on February 20, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho. Dixie was born on September 17, 1949, in Nampa, Idaho, to Warren Fewkes and June Fewkes. She was the second of nine children and was raised in Adrian, Oregon, where she enjoyed an active and adventurous childhood. She often walked a quarter mile to catch the school bus and loved spending time outdoors climbing fruit trees, catching tadpoles, and exploring the nearby drain ditches. Dixie shared many happy memories growing up with her brothers and sisters. Her brother Dan recalled that the family once had a billy goat that would allow anyone near—except Dixie. Whenever she stepped outside, the goat seemed determined to chase only her, a story that brought laughter to the family for years. Her sister Pat remembered Dixie spending many hours helping tend their very large family garden, learning the value of hard work alongside her family. Her sister Carol fondly shared memories of the two of them spending time together playing jacks, enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood. Dixie attended school in Adrian and graduated from Adrian High School. As a young woman, she detasseled corn and later attended beauty school, practicing her hairstyling skills on her sister Wanetta. She also worked at the Nyssa Corn Cannery, where she developed a strong work ethic that remained with her throughout her life. On September 2, 1971, Dixie married Stephen Todd Christensen in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. Dixie lived in Adrian, Oregon; Notus, Idaho; and Melba, Idaho, before returning to Nampa, Idaho. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Fewkes and June Fewkes
