Dan Whiting, 79, of Nampa died Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born September 8, 1938 in Salmon, Idaho to Ralph and Irene Whiting and was raised on the family ranch. He attended schools in Salmon, and after selling the ranch, he moved to Nampa and was involved in farming and construction. He then worked for Amalgamated Sugar Co. until his retirement. Dan is survived by his wife Nola; four sisters: Cathrine Stokes of Salmon, Margaret Patten of Nampa, Colleen Arave and Lois Farr both of Blackfoot; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, December 22 at the LDS Church located at 88 S. Happy Valley Road in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa and again at the church from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
