Clifford Cowell Adamson age 102 died peacefully in his home Saturday, January 12, 2019. Cliff was born April 26, 1916 in American Fork, Utah. He is survived by his five children and their spouses: Sherrin Danner, and Don and Diane Adamson of Salt Lake City; David and Miriam Adamson, Sylvan and Jodi Adamson, and Steve and Mary Ann Adamson all of Nampa; 24 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren, all of which were very dedicated to his family. He was preceded in death by his most cherished wife Clara Korth Adamson who he married February 24, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; a son-in-law; and three grandchildren. Cliff lived a life of service. He served in the US Army; and three missions, with his wife Clara, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--on a reservation in Mobridge, South Dakota, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, and at the Boise LDS Temple. He continued his service for countless others as he loved sharing and teaching the gospel and his philosophy of life which included hard work and financial responsibility for success. An often heard saying was "to get ahead you have to pay yourself first". Cliff started his career in business with Sears & Roebuck and CC Anderson Company in sales and marketing and management. He soon went out on his own and started Adamson Pump Company (which his sons took over in the early 70's). He and Clara saved every penny they could and when possible they purchased commercial real estate, building his estate which he generously shared with his children after retirement which was not until he was in his 90's! Work was very important to Cliff. We finally took his ladders away at his age of 93 to keep him off the roofs! Cliff and Clare enjoyed hunting in the Owyhee's with their children and fishing on the ocean, especially in Alaska. They were still going on those trips well in to their 90's. He also loved to go to the orchards during canning season and would bring home a truck full of fruits and vegetables. Even at 100 he was still spending hours and hours peeling or shucking to help get all the bounty stored for the winter. He always shared with his family and those in need. To keep up his spirit of go-go-go he had one knee replaced at age 95 and the other at age 97. Another favorite word was "Hurry". He lived his life to the very fullest. We will miss him terribly but are grateful for his long-life, peaceful passing and the knowledge he is with his beloved Clara now. Heartfelt gratitude for his daughter Sherron who came and lived at the home to be a companion to Cliff the past 10 years. As an RN she provided exceptional and loving care allowing him to remain in his home to the very end. A thousand thank you's, Sherron. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 11288 Roosevelt Ave in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 18 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa and again at the church from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services.
