Obituary for Charles Rees Bradshaw

Charles Rees Bradshaw, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on June 19, 2025, at the age of 80. Born to Dee & Rita Bradshaw on November 27, 1944, in Wales, Utah, Rees moved with his family to Melba, Idaho in 1946, where he spent most of his life and built a legacy of hard work, humor, and adventure.

Rees graduated from the Melba School District in 1963 and soon began a lifelong career in auto body repair and mechanics. Known as "Chuck" during his early years working at Ambrose in Wendell, Idaho, he shortly returned to Melba to start his own business, Charlie's Truck & Auto, where he was a well-known member of the community. In his later years, he took joy in farming in Marsing, continuing his deep connection to rural life.

Charles loved his family and made sure his children had a childhood full of laughter, adventure, and fun. Summers were filled with water fights, go-karts, motorcycles, four-wheelers, and games like "Red Rover" and "Ante Over". Winters were filled with sledding and "hooky bobbing", memories his family will cherish forever. He coached Little League baseball, hosted haunted houses at Halloween, and threw parties that brought the community together. He had a magnetic presence that could light up any room, drawing people in with his humor, charm, and storytelling. Whether at a party, a gathering, or just chatting with neighbors, people naturally gravitated toward him. He loved telling ghost stories to children and grandchildren around a campfire. His adventurous nature, often led him to his favorite locations, the Owyhee Mountains and Owyhee Reservoir always saying, "Let's see what's over the next hill."

He was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found strength and purpose in his faith.

Charles is survived by eight of his ten children: David (Debbie) Bradshaw, Paul (Diana) Bradshaw, Deborah (Michael) Martin, Melissa (Rick) LeMar, Brent (Sumer) Bradshaw, Angela (Christopher) Wolf, Benjamin Bradshaw & Robert (Jennifer) Bradshaw; his 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; his siblings, Ann (Dean) Leavitt, Madalon (Dick) Corn, Tony (Sandra) Bradshaw, Faye (Tim) Boehlke. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Morgan Bradshaw, daughter, Charli Bradshaw; his parents; two sisters, Susan Garner & Camille Pannell; and two brothers, Kevin & Thomas Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Melba LDS Chapel. Interment will follow at the Melba Cemetery.

Charles Rees Bradshaw will be remembered for his, infectious laughter and his curiosity for life. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and adventure that will live on in all who knew and loved him.
