d. Aug 30, 2023
Cathleen Elizabeth Dialogue June 20, 1973 - August 30, 2023
Cathleen Elizabeth Dialogue passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2023 after a valiant, 13-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded with love of her family and friends by her side. Cathleen was born on June 20, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wilma Whitehead Johnson and Curtis Carl Johnson. She was raised in Sandy, Utah where she graduated from Alta High School and later from Salt Lake Community College. On November 23, 1991 Cathleen married David C. Dialogue in the Manti, Utah Temple. They were blessed with 32 years together prior to her passing. From an early age, Cathleen aspired to be a mother. Together she and Dave went on to have four children and five grandchildren. She raised her children with love and compassion and taught them the importance of God, family and forgiveness. Cathleen was an amazing Grandmother and loved spending time playing with her grandchildren. Her other passion in life was the love of travel. Every summer, Cathleen would travel with her mother to different countries around the world. As her children grew older, she enjoyed being able to include them in her travels. After her second cancer diagnosis, she continued to travel during treatments. She believed in living life to the fullest, making memories and enjoying life. She showed great faith by "not worrying about every little thing and letting God take control." Cathleen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in numerous callings including Primary President and Young Women's President. Her favorite calling was teaching the youth in her 16-17 year old Sunday school class and she continued to teach up until her passing. For the past 18 years, Cathleen worked at Thomas Jefferson Charter School; first as a teacher and then as the office manager. She considered the TJCS staff to be her second family and she loved everyone with whom she worked. Her job gave her purpose and provided her with a sense of normalcy during her final cancer journey. Cathleen is survived by her husband, Dave; her mother, Wilma Johnson; her four children: Michael (Camille), Megan (Brayden), Joshua and Christa (Zac) as well as her four siblings: Carl (Kimberlina), Mark (Dani), Amber (Tom) and Curtis (Kim); four half siblings: Steve (Deirdre), Susanne, James (Sheri) Eric (Lori) and five grandchildren: Elena and Emmett Ramirez and Ander, Anna, and Emi Dialogue. She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Carl Johnson. We wish to thank Dr. Jonathan Swerdloff, the staff at St. Luke's Nampa Cancer Center and to those at St. Luke's Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Cathleen during this time.
We wish to also thank the many friends, parents and students of TJCS who provided emotional, spiritual and physical support to Cathleen and her family. Their generosity and love lifted and sustained Cathleen and her family during this difficult time. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for them. Thank you, so very much. Funeral services will be held Saturday September 9th, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building located at 1500 Smith Ave, Nampa, Idaho. A viewing will be held Saturday morning at 9:00am with the funeral service starting at 11:00am. Interment will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St. N, Nampa, Idaho concluding the service.
