Obituary

Caryn Lynn (Tapp) Jones, 62, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Caryn was born on September 2nd, 1962, in Nampa, Idaho to Eldon and Judy (Burch) Tapp. She was the only girl in a family of three boys that included Troy, Mike, and Mark Tapp. Caryn grew up in Nampa, attending Lincoln School, West Junior High, and Nampa High School (Bulldog alumni also included her father, brothers, and two of her children).

After high school, Caryn dedicated much of her career to Albertson's grocery store, a family legacy that also included her father and two brothers. During her 21 years at Albertsons, she worked her way up to the position of Front End Manager, earning many "Service First" accolades for exceptional customer service. She also pioneered a program that promoted the hiring of those with disabilities, and quickly became an advocate and a fast friend of her employee, Joe. Caryn fiercely advocated for those in need, and treated all people equally, with kindness and respect. She passed those traits along to her three children.

Caryn had three children she referred to as her "three musketeers," a daughter Kaysie of Boise, a son Jake of Melbourne, Australia, and a daughter Bailey of Nampa. Caryn loved her family and the joy of her life were her children, grandchildren and "furbabies" – Bogart, Lady, Blondie, Gus, Toots, and Mama Cat, just to name a few over the years. She loved to read and could always be found twirling her hair with one hand with the latest Danielle Steel romance novel in the other. She also enjoyed antiques and collecting Hummel porcelain figurines, and would often travel to flea markets, yard sales, and thrift stores with her mother and children. She and Granny Tapp probably single-handedly started the 1990s Beanie Baby craze, traveling all over the state for the Teenie Beanies in McDonald's Happy Meals.

Caryn was gifted with a lovely voice and had a talent for music, a gift she inherited from her father. An old soul, she was fond of old-time country and Nashville sound music, and she once recorded a beautiful rendition of Patsy Cline's Walkin' After Midnight. She also had a natural talent for the fiddle.

Caryn was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Eugene Tapp (Rest in peace "western warrior.")

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mike Jones; her three children, Kaysie (Christopher) Murdock, Jake (Brent) Peterson, and Bailey (Darris) Bopp; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Bellamie; and many grand dogs and grand cats. She also is survived by her mother, Judy Tapp, and three brothers, Troy (Kim), Mike (Monika), and Mark (Tina) Tapp.

Caryn was a fighter, facing life's ups and downs with grit and grace. Her mantra? "Get going tough girl, you're gonna put up with a little adversity." She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her friends and family. Rest in peace our beautiful songbird. We hope you are up there somewhere walkin' after midnight out in the starlight, singing and dancing with your Dad. A celebration of life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd., Nampa, ID.
