In Loving Memory of Blue Childers
The world lost a bright light when Blue Childers of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on July 26, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and service to others. Blue was born in Coral Gables, FL, the daughter of the late George and Hazel Perry. She dedicated her life to helping others grow, learn, and succeed.
Those who knew her will remember her quick wit and compassionate heart. Whether she was leading a troop through a new adventure or guiding a young hunter through their first steps in the field, she taught by example what it meant to give freely of oneself.
For 14 years, Blue was an active and passionate volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. She believed in the potential of every young person she worked with, offering both encouragement and challenge to help them become their best selves. Her dedication earned her the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award, but her true joy came from seeing lives changed through her guidance.
Her love of the outdoors led her to work with Idaho Fish and Game and volunteer as a Hunter, Bow Hunter, and Trapper education instructor. She was recognized with honors including Rookie of the Year, the Commissioner's "Continuing Our Heritage" Award, and both Regional and State Instructor of the Year. Her legacy of love and service will continue to ripple through countless lives.
She is survived by her daughters Tami Canale and Lianne Titus, grandchildren Mercedes, Michele and Nikolus, and great-granddaughter Kortana. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charley, her sister, La Verne, and her brother, George.
A celebration of Blue's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building on Greenhurst Rd at 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Blue's memory by extending a simple act of kindness to a stranger—just as she did every day of her remarkable life.
