Betty Jean Montgomery, 82, of Bingham Canyon, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, of natural causes. Born on July 21, 1942, Betty was the daughter of Marvin Cowdell and Harriet Wright, and was the fourth of six siblings. She grew up in the close-knit community of Bingham Canyon, where she spent her childhood surrounded by the love of family and friends.

In May of 1958, Betty married Earl Dean Allen; together, they shared 4 daughters, later divorcing. On April 1, 1997, Betty married Ray Montgomery, beginning a loving and lasting partnership.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Loretta (Leon) Ernest, LaNae (Bob) Carter, Lory Nelson, and LaDean (Brad) Fewkes; sisters Colleen Chamberlain, Lawain Wentz, Dawn (Keith) Sargent; and brother Marvin Cowdell, all of Utah.

She also cherished her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy throughout her life.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Harriet Cowdell; her brother, Melvin Cowdell; her husband, Ray Montgomery; and her son-in-law, Kerry Nelson.

Betty's kindness, love, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing her path.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at Zeyer Funeral Home on February 7th, 2025. The viewing will be at 11 am, and the service will be at 12 pm, with interment to follow at Melba City Cemetery.
