Barbara Marsh was born on October 14, 1933 in Ogden, Utah. She passed away on December 2, 2023 in Boise, Idaho. She graduated from Ogden High School.

Barbara was the oldest of five children: Betty Cantwell, Patricia Chamblee, Kay Chapple, and Dan Konold. As the oldest, she helped raise them.

She married Jim Whiteley in 1950. Her daughter Karen was born in 1952.

Barb had a varied life and career. She attended Weber State College for several years, owned a business with Jim, had a mini farm complete with her own tractor, worked as a real estate agent, worked for the US Forest Service, and worked for the Air Force and Navy as a contract manager. She regularly received performance awards from the government for her outstanding work.

After her marriage to Jim ended, she took a job at the China Lake Navy Base in California. There she met the love of her life, Bill Marsh, at a square dance. Bill gave her four more children: Monica, Marty, Melinda, and Michael. She always said having more children was a blessing. The Marsh children knew that Barb was the greatest gift Bill ever gave them.

Barb and Bill moved to Boise with Karen and Karen's children, Brian and Ashley after retiring. Barb raised her grandchildren after Karen died, expanding her family again.

With Bill, Barb traveled all over the United States. They flew, they camped, and they drove to see the USA. Barb loved traveling with Bill.

Barb made Bill happier than he had ever been. When he knew he was dying, he wrote her a thank you letter which eloquently describes their life together.

"My dearest Barb, I have tried for years to tell you how much you mean to me, and how happy you have made me. We met at a low point in my life, and you have nurtured me and enriched my life, and taught me the meaning of love, life, and living. Our life together has been too short, because there are so many things that we have not done together. Together makes it worthwhile. I love you, Bill"

Barb is survived by her siblings Betty, Patricia, Kay, and Dan; her children Monica, Melinda, and Michael; her grandchildren Brian and Ashley; numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and many very dear friends. We all love and miss her.
